My name is Benedikt Lufua. I am a gemologist by training, founder of BENEDIKT DIAMONDS and Austrian with Congolese roots. I have always had a strong desire to do something against the harsh living conditions in Congo. This is why I founded BENEDIKT DIAMONDS, a company that buys diamonds directly from Congolese miners at a fair trade premium, that is 30% above the market price. This way our customers get access to fair diamond jewelry while improving the living standard of the miner and his family.
We are a family business
I'm Dominique, Benedikt's brother. My multicultural upbringing between Austria and the DR Congo taught me that there are many different ways to help other, poorer and sometimes helpless people.
As Marketing & Sales Director, I'm not just here to sell diamond jewellery, I'm here to show you the radiant soul of one of the poorest countries on earth.
Fair Trade Diamonds
We buy our diamonds directly from the digger at a fair-trade premium of 30% over the market price.
Direct access to the source allows us 100% traceability and ensures that the diamonds are not only conflict free (=Kimberley Process Certificate) but are also purchased at a price that offers the miners a decent livelihood.
Our Supply chain
We source directly from small mines using environmentally friendly methods (pickaxe, shovel & sieves). We then export the stones, polish them for you and set them in fine jewelry so you know exactly where your diamond came from.
